General Information
By commissioning artwork from Victoria Armstrong , also known as Screaming Monkeys, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms ensure a clear understanding between the client and the artist regarding the creative process, payment, and ownership of the artwork.
Commission Process
The artwork will be a unique collage crafted from magazines and books specifically sourced from the year chosen by the client (e.g., 1990).
The client must specify the desired year for their collage in the order notes or during the initial consultation. Failure to provide this information may delay the start of the project.
The artist will provide an estimated timeline for completion once all details have been agreed upon.
The commission comes unframed but will be created in A4 size, making it easy for the client to find a suitable frame.
There are no revisions or changes allowed once the commission process begins. The client is expected to trust the artist’s creative process based on the initial concept discussed.
Payment Terms
Payment must be made in full upfront to confirm the commission.
If the client decides not to proceed with the commission after payment, they are entitled to a 50% refund, provided that the cancellation is made before the artwork is completed.
In the event of cancellation, the commissioned artwork will become available for public purchase at the artist's discretion.
Payment can be made via PayPal, visa or bank transfer.
Materials and Sustainability
The collage will be created using vintage magazines and books specifically from the year chosen by the client. If the client provides personal materials, they must be submitted in advance.
The artist is committed to eco-friendly practices and ensures the sustainable sourcing of all materials used in the artwork.
Completion and Delivery
The estimated time for completion will be 2-3 weeks unless otherwise agreed upon.
Once the artwork is completed and final payment is made, the client can either pick up the artwork in Palmerston North or arrange for shipping.
Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the client and are not included in the initial quote unless explicitly stated.
The artwork will be delivered unframed, but since it is A4 in size, it can easily fit into standard frames available commercially.
The artist will take reasonable steps to package the artwork securely. However, the artist is not responsible for damages that may occur during shipping.
Copyright and Usage Rights
The artist retains full copyright and ownership of the artwork, including the right to reproduce, distribute, and display the artwork for promotional purposes (e.g., website, social media, portfolio) unless the client specifically requests otherwise in writing.
The client receives the physical artwork but does not have the right to reproduce the work for commercial purposes unless a separate licensing agreement is made.
If the client shares the artwork on social media or other platforms, they must credit the artist as Screaming Monkeys.
Client Responsibilities
The client must provide clear and timely communication throughout the commission process.
It is the client’s responsibility to specify the desired year for their collage in the order notes. If the year is not provided, the commission may be delayed until the artist receives this information.
Cancellations and Refunds
If the client cancels the commission before the artwork is completed, they will receive a 50% refund of the total amount paid.
In the event of a cancellation, the commissioned artwork will become available for public purchase.
The artist reserves the right to cancel a commission at any stage, in which case the client will receive a full refund of any payments made.
Confidentiality
The artist will not share any personal details of the client or any sensitive material provided for the commission without the client’s explicit consent.
Acceptance of Terms
By commissioning artwork from Screaming Monkeys, the client confirms they have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
